Rooted in Mexican history before the Spanish and the Church, the taco’s timeless formula combines a shell, base, meat, and vegetables. This foolproof yet innovative design has transcended cultural boundaries, finding replication and enhancement worldwide, from the Mediterranean’s cuts to the Far East’s marinations. If any food deserves cultural exportation, nomination for fusion, and hybridization, it’s the esteemed taco.
