  • Travelling in the Footsteps of Historical Figures
    19 Nov 2021 (Fri) | 5:30pm-7:00pm

Driven by history and curiosity, the guest speaker of this event travelled off the beaten track by following the footsteps of renowned individuals such as Lawrence of Arabia, Graham Greene, as well as books like the Bible to explore places in the Holy Land, Arabia, and Africa. He will share his unusual and adventurous travel experiences of seeking out places and people, on some of which there was little information available online. Join to learn more about interesting history and exciting travel stories!

  • Christmas in the Southern Hemisphere
    26 Nov 2021 (Fri) | 5:30pm-7:00pm

A white and snowy landscape, smoking chimneys, throw in Santa Claus and some reindeer, and you have a clichéd “Christmas”. But this picture ignores the parts of the world that call December a summer month. Do Australians celebrate while sunbathing on the beach? Can New Zealanders re-create the “cosy” winter atmosphere that is commonly associated with the festival in the north? Or does the meaning and culture around Christmas adapt to the season and environment it is celebrated in? Join and find out!
