Africa Demystified

A vast continent with cultural and historical diversity unlike any other, Africa is often called “The Cradle of Humankind”. It boasts more than 50 countries and thousands of languages and ethnicities, and yet many of us outside this continent can barely distinguish its countries or regions. Join us for a casual and fun overview of the continent, and meet guests from Africa’s East, West and South, so you can paint your own picture and get new insights into an entire continent. Let’s demystify Africa together!

Cyrillic writing: backwards letters?

Have you ever wondered how to read the Cyrillic alphabet? For some of us, it might look like backwards or mirrored Latin letters; for others, it might give rise to associations of Russia or the Soviet Union. Join us for an evening of Cyrillic, where you can learn to read, write and maybe even speak a few words of Russian, while developing a deeper understanding and appreciation for an important alphabet, which you can find everywhere from Europe to Central Asia to the Pacific Ocean.
