Pressed Flower Red Banner Workshop

The workshop will introduce the history and cultural background of the art of pressed flower. You will also design and make your own art piece with real dried flowers. Choose the pressed flowers you like and learn to embed the flower with resin to create a unique Chinese traditional red banner. This might be the most special red banner you have in this Lunar New Year.

**Students who reside locally are welcome. Zoom link will be sent to the successful applicants. The red banner materials will be sent to the successful applicants some days prior to the event date by surface mail.**

8 Feb 2021 (Mon) | 6:30 – 8:00pm
Yemen: struggles and skyscrapers

Commonly called “Manhattan of the Desert”, this small country on the Arabian peninsula is truly unique. With ancient mud-brick high-rise buildings, UNESCO World Heritage sites, and an island that is frequently described as “the most alien-looking place on Earth”, this is one of the most under-appreciated nations in the world. Unfortunately, a civil war, often seen as proxy war or regional powers, has been wreaking havoc in this place. Join us for an evening where we discover its beauty and its tragedy. Best check our “Middle East Demystified” on 25 January for more context!

**This workshop will be held on Zoom**
